Processes
This section discusses the processes that make sure the direction set by the board or management committee is put into action. It helps us to consider if we are doing things in the most effective and efficient way. Processes can be defined as how an organisation identifies, manages, reviews and improves the way it does things. They are the systems and procedures that we use to:

plan and manage
   our activities

use and organise
   our resources
   (people, money, property,
   equipment, information and
   knowledge)

monitor and review what
   we do

Processes need to be 'fit for the purpose'. This means that they should meet your needs and be easy  for staff and volunteers to use.
The 'Need, Plan, Do, Review' cycle is as important here as elsewhere. We need to 'do' the right things in the right way if we are to have maximum impact, meet the needs of our stakeholders in a way that they find acceptable and meet the aims and principles set by the board or management committee.

PROCESSES
Planning
Plans are a means of gaining control over what we do. Plans make sure that everyone knows what they are doing, why they are doing it, how they are going to do it, who is doing it,and within what timescale.
Managing People
Managing people is about ensuring that the right people are recruited for the right jobs, that people have clear, achievable goals which are monitored and that they have the knowledge, skills and support to do the job. It's also about ensuring that people are involved and empowered.
Managing Money
This refers to financial management, which is the process of trying to ensure that our organisation meets its liabilities, stays 'in the black' and avoids financial difficulties. Overall financial management is an important part of the role of the  Board or Management Committee, but day-to-day financial control will usually be delegated to paid staff.
Managing Other Resources
Other resources includes property, equipment, information technology, knowledge and relationships with others. When resources are used effectively, the most important things get done. If resources are used economically, some resources are  freed up for other uses.
Managing Activities
Managing activities is about ensuring that all of our processes are brought to bear to achieve positive outcomes for the groups that we target.
Monitoring & Review
Monitoring and review involves checking and measuring our progress against our objectives. It's about checking that we are doing the right things in the right way in order to achieve our objectives.
